List of channel designs (PS2C)

The dual channel amps are built with either of the following general channel configurations:

Overdrive / Overdrive

(Two of the same overdrive design, for instance Firejack / Firejack )

Overdrive / Clean

You can dial in each overdrive channel for “rhythm” or “lead”, or set one channel for “medium gain” and the other for “higher gain”. For each channel there are separate Edge/Crunch/Mode* switches, and separate controls for channel gain, EQ and volume. This setup is very flexible.

*Mode switch is new for Firejack and Body Hammer (not available for the Reptilicus). The Mode switch is not pictured on the amp above, but will be soon.

See the list of designs below.

CLEAN
Provides clean, blues and classic overdrive sounds with the familiar characteristics of many vintage amps while having its own sonic signature. Makes for excellent low-gain crunch sounds with the gain turned up.

-OVERDRIVE DESIGNS-

REPTILICUS
This design is based on Vega and Regulus designs combined; it’s the most toneful and flexible “modified Marshall”-sounding design Peters Amplification has made. NOTE: this is LOWER GAIN than Firejack and Body Hammer! This is not generally to be considered a “heavy metal” design to most people. It can be considered a “modified Marshall” sort of sound…but maybe the kind of “modified Marshall” that middle-aged cork-sniffers talk about (and I know a thing or two about this because I am one of them). If you are salivating over the idea of “modified Marshall” imagining “super high gain”, consider the next two designs below instead! They’re what you actually want. But if you want truly old-school stuff, Reptilicus is where it’s at.

FIREJACK
While classified as a modern high gain design, the Firejack has a more vintage sound and feel with more shimmer and chime to its sound. It’s a re-inventing of the earliest Gryphon design but with elements of the later Gryphon design (including its specific edge switch functionality). Since the format of the amps have changed internally in several areas as of 2017 (including effects loop and poweramp circuitry), there are other changes in the voicing as well. NOTE: THIS REPLACES THE GRYPHON AND GNL DESIGNS. It can do what they did, but better.

BODY HAMMER
This is the most aggressive and focused modern high gain design made by Peters Amplification to date, and it’s still full of tone. It’s fierce and unapologetic. Prepare to have your face ripped off…and enjoy it. NOTE: THIS REPLACES THE HYDRA, CHIMERA AND FSM DESIGNS. If you’ve heard a clip of those designs and thought “that sounds neat!” you’ll probably consider this to be a superior design in every way.

The name Marshall is only used for general comparative purposes. The name Marshall is trademark Marshall Amplification.
